TALII’s Story
So many people ask me how Taliitowels all started. Like most great ideas Talii came from a need. During the summer of 2012 my cousin from Belgium and I spent time together at the cottage, and she had a lovely towel with her. I loved its fantastic qualities: it was compact, quick drying, and super absorbent. I looked to purchase one in Canada and there were none that offered a variety of sizes or fantastic colours. I set out to find a manufacturer and after a year of R&D, in May of 2014, I placed my first order. Although I only wanted 4 for myself, there was a 1000 piece minimum order. I ordered 50 pieces of both sizes in my 10 chosen colours. My manufacturer insisted on 1000 of the same color but I convinced him to produce the 1000 piece order in 10 colours. I hosted a launch party in my home, which cleared out most of my stock! By week 5, I had sold 700 of the 1000 towels. This confirmed my knowledge that I had something very special. I did my first event at the Bindertwine in Kleinburg in September 2014 and soon found that residents were hunting me down for towels. That was a proud and exciting time for me as I knew moms were sharing their towels and their stories about how great they were at saving space, drying fast, and not smelling.
I tried juggling my full-time job and Taliitowels however my heart was now in my own business. I had a great deal of work to do on my website ( thank you Voldock ), and also with accountants, banks, and graphic designers. I could not see to the end of the list. In February of 2015 I took Talii on full time.
I used the three F’s: my friends, my family and Facebook to help me name my company, after which I launched a Facebook page. Taliitowels is named after my daughter Talia, my manufacturer Tay and myself, Lisa. With every shipment I improved my product. For example, tweaking colours, adding things to the laundry tag, or experimenting with new sizes. Taliitowels are now antibacterial and never develop any disgusting smells. They are also bit thicker than my first shipment. All results of the endless process of constant, incremental improvements based on customer feedback and testing. The bath sheet is a very generous size. I love mine down south on my chaise lounge.
I have used my TaLii out of the shower for three years now. I prefer the sheet for my body because by the time I put the towel around me and pat myself I’m completely dry. It’s great used as a blanket on a flight or at the cottage by the fire.
I like to recommend the bath towel size to small children or ladies for their hair and people that are primarily concerned with space while travelling.
TaLiitowels are made of microfibre. Microfiber will melt with the heat. It is not recommended that your use your Taliitowels on any hot surface such as your Oven or Stove. a hot pot, or pan or baking dish. Keep it away from the heat of your BBQ too. Compare this to using a waterproof garden glove to take out your apple pie. Or boiling water in Tupperware.
Everything is essentially flammable however I took a TaLii into my backyard with a lighter (don’t try this at home!) it smoldered but it didn’t “catch” fire.
No, TaLiis are made of a suede microfiber; they are softer than a baby’s face.
The strap is used to keep your TaLii folded or rolled up nice and tight.

The bath sheet absorbs 2 full liters of water.The bath towel absorbs 1 and 3/4 liters of water.

We always suggest washing Taliitowels as you would a new pair of cotton jeans or a new Red Roots sweat shirt.
We put a laundry instruction in each purchase and we put them in the packaging when we send them to marinas or retailers.
Reds and blues may bleed, so be careful with new towels around light colours. It’s the nature of the beast.
However, after three washes we wash ALL the TaLiitowels that come back from an event (and there could be 40) in one load. Except YELLOW. We always wash yellow with our WHITES. Always
Do not soak them in a tub! That’s not going to work!! The dye will continue to bleed. Put them in a load with LIKE colors.
Wash the blues in with blacks. Give them a nice wash. The wash / rinse cycle in combination with them beating around with other clothing will help rid of excess color.
Same with RED. Wash with your black load or your dark blues. Those colors are darker than red.
How many can I wash at once?
I provide all my pool guests with a TaLii. That leaves me with all the Laundry. I put 10 bath sheets and 7 bath towels in one load and they were dry in 39 minutes. I kid you not!!
Can I use fabric softener?
You should not use fabric softener as the fabric softner will clog up the wick in the fabric and compromise absorbency.
Can I use bleach?
No.
Do TaLii Towels stain easily?
My daughter uses waterproof mascara and dries her Face with her TaLii, leaving two eyelash mascara stains on every towel she uses. It comes out every time, without the use of any stain remover.
Do I wash them with my terry towels?
No. You should wash them with your jeans. You really shouldn’t wash anything with terry towels because the cotton causes pilling (balls) on your other laundry items.
Does the colour noticeably fade?
I’ve been washing mine for four years and mine are still in pristine condition with the color remaining just as bright.
What is your return policy?
TaLii Towels are considered to be a personal hygiene product; therefore, it is our policy that they are nonrefundable.
TALII Totes subject to 25% restocking fee in case of a return.
We offer refund and/or exchange within the first 14 days of your purchase, if 14 days have passed since your purchase, you will not be offered a refund and/or exchange of any kind. Your refund will be subject to a 25% restocking fee.
Eligibility for Refunds and Exchanges
- Your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.
- The item must be in the original packaging.
- To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
- Only regular priced items may be refunded, sale items cannot be refunded.
- If the item in question was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you will receive a gift credit for the value of your return.
- You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item.
- Shipping costs are non-refundable! If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Are masks refundable or returnable?
No due to COVID-19 we cannot refund or return masks.

What type of customization do you offer?
Up until 2017 we offered custom embroidery in our many colours. Many clients disapproved of the interfacing/stabilizer that was visual on the backside of the towel. Our solution to this was moving forward with a state of the art laser application. Names and imaged will appear to be 7 shades darker than the pantone of the towel.
Will the laser appear the same on all of my order(s)?
Although we attempt to ensure the same size images, this would be dependent on too many factors to guarantee that any 2 custom towels would be identical.
Can you Laser on all colours?
Because the laser is 7 shades darker than the colour of the towel, we cannot laser on white and black. Call us if you want it printed in different colours on your towel.

What exclusions apply to free shipping?
Some locations have abnormally high shipping rates. In these cases we will call you about the cost however we reserve the right to cancel the order.
The following provinces are exempt from free shipping: New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Saskatchewan.
PORCH PIRATING
TaLiitowels uses UPS primarily to deliver your packages. Our research shows that our clients do not want to be home to sign for their order. They also do not want to drive to a depot for pick up.
It’s all about convenience.
When placing your order please use an address that you feel is safest for receiving.
If your package goes missing after it has left TaLiitowels you will have to reach out to the courier and submit a claim. They will track your package and arrange for compensation if they feel they are at fault
I shipped to the US but ordered from a Canadian location, why was I billed in USD?
If an order is placed to a US location, it is subject to the US currency exchange. The delivery address overrides the country of purchase. Rather than raise costs across the board this method is used to cover duty costs and inflated delivery charges that are not included in a Canadian order shipped within Canada.
How long will my order take ?
If there is laser on your order allow for 3 extra days.
We usually pack up your order the day it is received if it’s prior to noon
It may go out as quickly as that day at 4:00 pm
